Belmont Recreation Reserve

A true hidden gem, Belmont Recreation Reserve boasts stunning gardens, open lawns, and mature trees—perfect for nature play and climbing adventures. The nearby Hutt River provides an exciting space for water play, exploration, and even safe fire-building experiences.

During our programmes, we have access to the Belmont Scout Hall, offering a dry space for gear on those sideways-rain days. Plus, with not one but two convenient underpasses, we can easily explore Speedy’s Reserve and venture into the beautiful Pareraho Forest.

Access and Parking

The hall is located in Belmont Recreation Reserve on Norfolk Street, Belmont. At the end of Norfolk Street then is a large parking and turning area beside the hall. Please use the angled parking spaces available. For those traveling by foot or bike it maybe easier to travel across Kennedy Good Bridge and enter the reserve via cycle or walking paths. The closest bus stop is approximately 400m away on Major Drive, Kelson.

Paparangi Scouts & Seton Nossiter Park

In July 2025, we began running our holiday programmes and Nature School sessions from Paparangi Scouts and the adjoining Seton Nossiter Park. This new base followed our time at Wilton Park, after the closure of the Huntleigh GirlGuiding Centre. The Paparangi Scout Den sits beside a wide open field, framed by mature trees and native bush. Just beyond the hall, a path winds down into the expansive Seton Nossiter Park, where the Belmont Stream flows through the valley — an ideal place for play, exploration, and building lasting connections with nature.
